Hello Plant City! We are here for you. We believe yoga should be accessible, non-intimidating, deeply relaxing, challenging, and fun, so we offer a variety of classes and styles to meet the diverse needs of our community. Are you a beginner? We have got your back with several beginner friendly classes. You will hopefully feel right at home here. Are you an advanced practitioner? Come on in and practice your own way. You can feel free to take deeper variations, hops into handstands, or whatever makes you feel amazing and helps you grow as a practitioner.

We are open for classes daily, and our schedule does change depending on which classes are most successful, so please check our online schedule for up-to-date classes.

FAQ's

When are you open?

The studio will open approximately 15 minutes prior to the class start time. If you are a new student you can SIGN UP HERE to save time and paper. Please arrive at least 5-10 minutes before class begins so you can settle in. Doors are locked 5 minutes after the class begins, and remain locked throughout class.

No one is at the studio during non class times so please call 813-363-5399 if you need information.

Should I register online? 

Signing up online is a great way to plan your weekly yoga schedule and commit to it. Your instructor appreciates it as well, as she knows to expect you. It is also great because if the class is cancelled for any last minute reason, you will receive a call in advance! We are a drop-in studio, so you may come to any class on the schedule, anytime without pre-registering. If you are a new client, this will allow you the time to register and become acquainted with our studio. 

What should I avoid? 

Avoid eating a heavy meal before coming to class, giving yourself at least 2-3 hours to digest. 

Avoid wearing heavily scented lotions or perfumes. Please do not come to class while sick or with a lingering cough from an upper respiratory infection.

If you smoke, please be mindful not to enter the studio smelling of cigarette smoke.

Please no cell phones or shoes in practice space.  We have cubbies for you to store your things.

Don't push yourself. Yoga is about practicing to your own level - We believe that your yoga mat is your own little island!! Rest as needed, avoiding over-stretching, straining, or injury.  Never push to your 100%. Be gentle with yourself. Overtime, with mindful practice, you will learn how to listen to your body.

What temperature is the studio kept at? 

The studio is kept comfortably warm in the upper 70's & 80's keeping your muscles and joints safe from injury. Sweating is one of the best and easiest ways to detoxify the body, so don’t be afraid to build up some heat! If you get too hot, let your instructor know, we will cool you down with the fans and some air.

What should I definitely do?

Definitely let your instructor know BEFOREHAND if you have any physical limitations, conditions, or are pregnant.

Make yourself comfortable. Relax. ENJOY YOUR EXPERIENCE!

Come hydrated. Try to drink little or no water during practice. Hydrate well after class. Bring a water bottle if you like. We have spring water for you to refill your bottle.

BE kind and respectful to everyone in the studio space. 

What do I need to bring?

All you need to do is show up. Wear comfortable, loose fitting, or yoga clothing. 

AN OPEN MIND.

We have yoga mats for your use. We sell high quality mats in our retail area. We recommend, for your own personal hygiene, that you purchase your own mat. Owning your own mat is also a commitment to your practice. You may wish to bring a towel with you to class, we sell yoga towels, too.

How do I cancel my Auto-Pay membership?

After your 3 month commitment has been honored, you may cancel your auto-pay membership anytime by sending an email to info@thekoayoga.com. Messages must be sent 14 days before your next scheduled payment. Cancellation requests via Facebook or voicemails will not be accepted. Please understand there is no exception to this policy.

Can I book a private session?

If you wish to book a private session please call us or email us and we will find the best instructor for your personal needs. Sessions are $75 for a 60 minute session and take place at the studio. If you wish to book an instructor for an 'off site' session, please make a special request for this service. Private sessions are non refundable and must be paid for in advance. Cancellation requires 24 hour notice. Less than 24 hours notice, results in 50% loss of payment. Less than 3 hours notice results in 100% loss of payment. If the instructor is late for any reason at all, you get a free session.
