Good Things To Know....
Before and after class:
If you are a beginner, do not be afraid to come to your first class! We are here for you, and will help you get started exactly where you are! You do not need to be flexible, or fit to begin yoga. If you can breathe, you can do yoga.
The studio will open approximately 15 minutes prior to the class start time. If you are a new student you can sign up HERE to save time and paper. We are a drop-in studio, so you may come to any class, anytime without pre-registering. If you are a new client, this will allow you the time to register and become acquainted with our studio. Doors will be locked during class time.
Avoid eating a heavy meal before coming to class, giving yourself 2-3 hours to digest. Be sure to hydrate well before and after practice, drinking only small amounts or no water during class.
Please inform your instructor of any injuries or illnesses or conditions that might affect your practice. This will help us help you!!
Yoga is about practicing to your own level - We believe that your yoga mat is your own little island!! Rest as needed, avoiding over-stretching, straining, or injury. Never push to your 100%. Overtime, with mindful practice, yoga will teach you how to listen to your body.
Studio Environment - The studio is kept comfortably warm keeping your muscles and joints safe from injury. Sweating is one of the best and easiest ways to detoxify the body, so don’t be afraid to build up some heat!
Etiquette- Please help keep our studio environment pleasant and peaceful. We work to avoid external distractions while in class, Please No cell phones or shoes in practice space. We have cubbies for you to store your things.
Avoid wearing heavily scented lotions or perfumes. Please do not come to class while sick or with a lingering cough. Unless it is absolutely necessary, try to be settled on your mat before the teacher starts the class and stay until class is finished. Part of your experience starts and ends with quiet relaxation – an important and enjoyable part of your yoga practice!
Make yourself comfortable - We have yoga mats for use, and high quality mats for sale in our retail area. We recommend, for your own personal hygiene, that you purchase your own mat. Owning your own mat is also a commitment to your practice. You may wish to bring a towel with you to class, we sell yoga towels, too. You don’t need fancy workout gear to practice yoga. Practice in comfortable clothing and bare feet to allow for maximum movement and flexibility.
Yoga is for everyone and every body! No experience or flexibility is required. It is a non-competitive, non-judgmental, community based, kind and caring atmosphere. Yoga does not care what religion, race, or ethnicity you are. Everyone here is on your side!
